Now let us select Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates and Choose Rectangular to Polar. The resultant image would be as shown below. |

You can add color to the blast of light by using overlays. To do this, Create a new layer below the blast layer and fill it with color of your choice
and change its blending mode to overlay. The resultant image would be as shown below. |
