Step 17 |
Select the “Gradient Tool” and make sure you select the “Linear” mode. Also make sure to change its type to “Foreground to Transparent”. In the
same time, click and drag the gradient to the bottom of the selection. By now you should observe a web button with a highlight effect. |

In this stage you can save your selection. Do this by simply clicking Select > Save Selection. After saving it, deselect by pressing the Ctrl + D key
combination. |

At this point if you are not satisfied with the way the highlighted part of the button is blended, you can apply some more blur to those areas (Filter >
Blur > Gaussian Blur and increase the value until you are satisfied with the result). |

However, your image will not be complete without a shadow in the opposite area of the highlighted area. You will now see how small shadow under
your button is created. Choose the Freeform Pen and use it to draw a line at the area on the button where you would like your area to be. |
