Welcome to CG Online Tutorials |
Welcome to CG Online Tutorials -
In this part of the tutorial let us learn how to improve the scene that we created in the earlier part of the tutorial. Then let us go over to UV mapping of the
object and create shading and texturing using Mental RAY. |

Step 26 |
Now it looks better with nice shadows, but it’s a bit dark in front of camera. So let us create a spot light and set
angle to be in opposite direction to area light. Create linear decay and set intensity to 10 and add penumbra angle, something like 10. Here’s render test
as shown below. |

Step 27 |
Now it looks pretty good. You can play with the settings and experiment on your own to get the result that you want.
For this tutorial we will stop here and make some Post production in PhotoShop. For the final render let us create a render with 800x600 dimension and final
gather rays to 1000. Here is how the final rendered image looks like. |

Step 28 |
Now let’s make this picture even better using PhotoShop. Open the picture in photoshop. You will have the image in
first layer. Now press RMB and duplicate that layer so that you have two layers with same image. |

| |
Step 29 |
Now to the duplicated layer we will use Gaussian blur filter, go to "Filter" menu and select "Gaussian Blur" filter as
shown below. |
