Step 17
Now we are going to create new eyeball model and make some texture and shader for it. First of all you should get in some human eye anatomy and how eye shader works in reality then you can make a decent model of an eyeball in CG.

Step 18
If you take a closer look on an human eye you can see that front part bulges a bit. Eye is not completely a sphere object. With pupil, you need to make it look like a hole in eye and darker part around iris is a shadow that falls on iris, not darker texture or something like that. So now we’ll try to replicate this in maya. first using hull sub object on eye nurbs sphere reshape sphere to get a shape which would be similar to an eyeball shape.

Step 19
Now make sure that eye’s are pointing almost straight to grid! Like 0.0.0 rotation position. Then create new poly sphere, and delete part of object that is selected as shown below picture.

Step 20
When you delete that part you get base object for our iris object. After that use freeze transform option and center pivot. Make -1 scale on X axis, that will make our object convex shape. And that is how human eye iris looks like.
